get involved

Join us on an extraordinary 500-year journey

There are several ways you can get involved and support the work of Karori Sanctuary:

Become a volunteer

With over 400 volunteers assisting in over 28 different workgroups, Karori Sanctuary is one of the largest volunteer organisations in Wellington. But we are always looking for more of the right people to join our volunteer workforce.

The Sanctuary simply would not exist and not be the success it currently is without the dedication and immeasurable hours put in by the community organisations and individuals involved.

Volunteering at the Sanctuary is extremely rewarding and offers the ability to learn new skills in a sociable environment. Tasks are varied and range from: fence monitoring, bird feeding and weeding through to office support, boat skippering and guiding.

Contact us for more information about becoming a volunteer.
