Already the support of our members, volunteers and other supporters, has helped Karori Sanctuary to:
Reintroduce little spotted kiwi, saddleback, hihi, tuatara, Maud Island frog and giant weta to the wild on the mainland of New Zealand for the first time
Re-establish wild populations, within a city, of iconic species such as kaka, brown teal, weka, robin, tomtit and whitehead
Become a nationally and internationally recognised centre of education and research
Deliver educational programmes to thousands of school children and visitors.
