Karori Sanctuary is a popular place for environmental education experiences for primary and secondary schools. It offers the unique opportunity to learn about and experience New Zealand's natural heritage, yet only be minutes from the city!

Programme duration and times

Our programmes are two hours in duration. They run Monday to Friday at the following times: 9:45-11:45am or 12:30-2:30pm. Or at other times by arrangement. School groups can stay in the Sanctuary for longer by arrangement.

Student to adult ratios

We require that all educational groups have an adult / student ratio of 1:5. Please note that the Sanctuary Educators are not included in this ratio.

Costs

Students - $4.50 each
Teachers - FREE
Accompanying adults - $4.50 each.

Bookings must be made to receive these discounted rates. Membership benefits do not apply to educational group bookings - the $4.50 charge applies to all adults.

Parking

There is easy access and free parking in the Sanctuary carpark. If you're bringing a bus please let us know so we can advise where to park. Please note that bus drivers are permitted free access to the Sanctuary while your group is visiting. You might like to mention this to your bus driver.
