Our restoration plan
In 2000 our restoration strategy was developed aiming to bring back the sights and sounds of our natural heritage to Wellington in our 225 hectare valley.
The essence of our restoration strategy is its long-term nature - in fact we believe it will take 500 years to fully restore the Sanctuary to its pre-human state! We may be able to assist nature and speed things up a bit, but the final achievement of our vision is for generations far beyond our own.
